Ambassador Posa praised traditionally good and friendly relations of the two countries, and stressed that there was potential for their further development, particularly in the field of economy. He also supported and encouraged the progress which Montenegro has been achieving in the process of integration to NATO and EU, stressing that Montenegro was a leader in the region in this field, and that it was important to continue the implementation of its reforms.
Speaking of political developments in Montenegro and in the Parliament, President of the Parliament Mr Darko Pajović particularly emphasised the importance of meeting three key objectives: peace and political stability, successful continuation of Euro-Atlantic integration and providing conditions for holding fair and free elections.
Parliament of Montenegro will give its full contribution to achieving these objectives, by efficient work and professional relation towards its obligations. We have a duty, not only to control the government of electoral trust, but also to lead a mission that the Government should accomplish, and that is free and fair elections, Mr Pajović underlined.
The interlocutors shared views on the overall political situation in Montenegro, including signing of the Agreement on Creating Conditions for Free and Fair Elections. Also, they discussed the process of ratification of the Protocol on Montenegro's Accession to NATO.
The President of the Parliament voiced pleasure over the bilateral relations of the two countries and voiced gratitude for the support of Hungary in the integration and developmental processes of Montenegro.
