President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Darko Pajović said that he was glad that delegation from Mata was the first foreign delegation he had met, given that Montenegro and Malta were similar particularly with regard to rich history, natural and cultural resources.  Therefore, President Pajović thinks that the two countries may have useful exchange of experiences, particularly in the field of environment protection and that cooperation in tourism should be improved.  When it comes to EU accession process, Mr Pajović believes that the experience of Malta’s administration would be significantly useful to Montenegro.

H.E. President of the Republic of Malta Ms Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca agrees that cooperation at the level of exchange of experiences with Montenegro should be improved, and supported the proposal of President Pajović that the cooperation of the two countries should be intensified as soon as possible.

When it comes to EU integration, he thinks that the next year is extremely important given that they will undertake chairmanship of the EU Council.Ms Coleiro Precapromised that they would do everything to encourage Montenegro’s path to the EU, by providing support through their experience of accessing to the EU.

President Pajović thanked for such attitude and added that door of the Parliament of Montenegro were opened for economic development as well as for the process of Euro-Atlantic integration.
