Today, within the official visit to the Republic of Albania, President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Darko Pajović has met with President of Albania Mr Bujar Nishani.
President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Darko Pajović thanked the Albanian President Mr Nišani on his hospitality. Furthermore, he also expressed gratitude for Albania’s support to the process of Montenegro’s accession to NATO. He pointed out that by assuming the office of President of the Parliament he assumed great responsibility, but also a commitment of continuity and additional improvement of good bilateral relations between the two countries. As one of especially suitable fields, significant for life of citizens of the two countries, but also for strengthening of mutual trust, president Pajović pointed out the field of economy with special emphasis on projects of sustainable development and valorisation of natural resources shared by Montenegro and Albania, especially in the border area.
President Pajović also said that Montenegro was a civic state which, during the turbulent years of disintegration of Yugoslavia ,had been the only one that had managed to preserve multi-ethnic peace and harmony, of which we were especially proud.
President of Albania Mr Bujar Nishani expressed pleasure over bilateral relations between Montenegro and Albania pointing out that visit of President Pajović was an excellent opportunity to additionally improve relations by agreeing on concrete projects in fields such as - economy, ecology, infrastructure, and agriculture.
Mr Nišani congratulated Mr Pajović on his election as president of the Parliament of Montenegro, as well as on progress that Montenegro was achieving in the process of accession to the EU and NATO. He said on this occasion that he was especially grateful that Albania was the first neighbouring country to ratify the NATO Accession Protocol for Montenegro.
In addition to President Pajović, Montenegrin delegation in all meetings, including the session of the Albanian Parliament, consisted of Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Miodrag Vuković and Ambassador of Montenegro to Albania Mr Ferhat Dinoša.
