President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Darko Pajović today received new Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Podgorica H.E. Mr Hans Günther Mattern.
President Pajović congratulated to the Ambassador on assuming the new position and expressed expectation that good cooperation will be continued and also strengthened in the following period, particularly in the field of economy. He thanked to the FR of Germany for the continuous support to European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Montenegro.
According to Ambassador Mattern, the process of ratification of the NATO Accession Protocol for Montenegro in the German Bundestag will not last long, because Germany wants to see Montenegro in NATO and EU. The interlocutors agreed that, regardless of all challenges, people want to see solutions and they can be found only through compromise, and there is no better place for that than the Parliament.
President Pajović informed the Ambassador on achieved results of the Parliament of Montenegro in the past two months, noting the importance of active participation of all political parties in this process. He emphasised that that all of this resulted in political stability in the country, which enabled the continuation of EU and NATO integration, a prerequisite for ensuring conditions for free and fair elections and further democratisation of the country”.
