President of the Parliament attends the signing of the Protocol and the presenting of the donation of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China

Mr Pajović: With drones we protect the national parks in an effective manner

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Darko Pajović today attended the signing of the Protocol and the presenting of the donation of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Montenegro, which was provided for the Public Enterprise for National Parks of Montenegro through mediation of the Parliament of Montenegro. The donation consists of drones and auxiliary equipment worth around 35,000€, and will be used for the needs of protection services of the National Parks and the Ulcinj Solana (Ulcinj saltworks). Considering that prevention of illegal activities is one of the key challenges faced by the protected natural areas, the donation by the Chinese Embassy to Podgorica is extremely significant for National Parks of Montenegro.

President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Darko Pajović, whose engagement ensured this donation, said that a significant step was made in protection of national parks in a modern and effective manner.

 - This is a continuation of the sustained attention which the Parliament pays to the protection of national parks of Montenegro. In order to protect natural resources of our country, the Parliament adopted a set of laws relating to their protection, including the Law on National Parks and the Law on Legalisation of Informal Structures. With this we have, among other things, legally prevented legalisation of unlicensed construction of structures in the zone of the protected natural area. Our goal is primarily to legally protect the national parks and to prevent their further devastation, and then to use them in an economically sustainable manner.

President of Montenegrin Parliament emphasised that this valuable donation represented another one in a series of honest messages of friendship between the people of China and of Montenegro, and he thanked the ambassador of China and his associates for their engagement in protection of national parks of our country.

In the presence of President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Darko Pajović and Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China Mr Cui Zhiwei, the Protocol on Donation was signed by the political advisor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Montenegro Mr Zhang Xiang and Director of the PE National Parks of Montenegro Ms Azra Vuković.
