At their seventeenth meeting held today, the Administrative Committee of the Parliament of Montenegro held a consultative hearing of six candidates for appointment of one member of the Senate of State Audit Institution, namely: Mr Branko Bulatović, MA; Mr Zarija Pejović, PhD; Ms Neli Ćuković; Mr Radule Žurić; Mr Žarko Đurišić; and Mr Milan Radović.
The Committee established the Rules of Consultative Hearing for Appointment of One Member of the Senate of State Audit Institution, informing of it the candidates before their individual introductions. Following the individual introductions, the candidates answered the questions asked by the members of the Committee.
The members of the Committee were primarily interested in the motives for the candidates’ application to the Open Vacancy Announcement, especially in case the candidates were applying to the Open Vacancy Announcement for the first time. They were interested in their perception of the preventive role of the State Audit Institution, actual proposals of candidates for achieving independence in the work of the State Audit Institution, as well as promotion of work of this institution, through introducing innovation and strengthening the human resources capacities, and the readiness of candidates to act and initiate criminal responsibility, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on State Audit Institution. Additionally, they were also interested whether the previous working experience of several candidates would be burdensome on their objectivity during their possible future work in the State Audit Institution.
Ms Branka Bošnjak, docent PhD, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee stated that by electing a women as a member of the State Audit Institution, they would also fulfil one of the conditions of the European Commission regarding representation of women in public institutions. Additionally, she deemed as positive the application of candidates that have consolidated working experience from the fields of law and economics professions.
After all the questions by the members of the Committee had been exhausted, Mr Radivoje Lala Nikčević, the Chairperson of the Committee, thanked the candidates for their participation in the work and their contribution to the preparation of the MPs, members of the Committee, for deciding on the selection of candidates for appointment of one member of the Senate of State Audit Institution.
The Committee decided to select the candidates for appointment of one member of the Senate of State Audit Institution at their following meeting.
