At the 35th meeting of the Administrative Committee of the Parliament of Montenegro of the 25th convocation, on the basis of Article 29 relating to Article 30 of the Law on Election of Councillors and MPs, the Committee has not determined the proposal for candidates for the composition of the State Election Commission, because none of the candidates acquired the necessary majority. The Committee decided to discontinue the procedure of considering applications for election of one member of the State Election Commission from among representatives of the civil society, non-governmental sector and university, according to the Public Notice and proposals of MPs Groups for members of the State Election Commission; The Committee also decided to continue the process at the following Committee meeting.
The Committee decided to send an official letter to the Collegium of the President of the Parliament, in order to inform it that none of the candidates who applied for positions of Chair and member of the State Election Commission by the Public Notice for the appointment the Chair and one member of the State Election Commission from among representatives of the civil society, non-governmental sector and university, did not obtain the necessary majority of votes, thus the Committee was not able to meet the legislative deadline on submitting the proposal for a decision on appointment of the State Election Commission to further procedure of the Parliament of Montenegro.
With regard to the second item of the agenda, the Committee - after noting the resignation by a member of the Jury for presenting 13th July Award Mr Andrej Nikolaidis - decided to establish new proposal for the member of the Jury for presenting 13th July Award, and submit to the Parliament for further procedure and deciding.
