Experiences in preventing and combating corruption as well as the most efficient models in the fight against this problem were exchanged in the workshop during working days. In addition, attention was paid to building integrity in the system institutions in order to reduce corruption to the smallest possible level. In addition to the above said, during the workshop participants were presented with NATO Building Integrity Programme-BI, which offers real solutions for solving the problem of corruption as well as mechanisms for its early detection and prevention.
On the second day of the workshop, MP Snežana Jonica had a presentation during which the participants were presented with the work of parliamentary working bodies and the models of action of MPs in terms of prevention of corruption in Montenegro. Ms. Jonica spoke about the steps taken by the Montenegrin institutions headed by the Parliament of Montenegro in the process of building integrity which is the basis for effective prevention of corruption.
The workshop was organized by NATO in cooperation with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly and the Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC) and the Austrian parliament.
The aim of the workshop is to raise awareness of the presence of corruption in the defense and security sector as well as finding effective ways of action in the fight against corruption through increased transparency and building integrity.
