Mr Nuhodžić said that tasks and activities of the police were primarily related to citizens, while the security and defence presented a prerequisite for any other social progress.

- Thus, professionalism, accountability and legality in the work of police officers present an imperative and an important step in further democratisation of the society, and the adoption and implementation of this Strategy, I am convinced, will contribute to that aim, Mr Nuhodžić added.

Chairperson Nuhodžić stressed that the Committee continuously followed and appreciated results achieved by the Ministry of Interior and Police Administration, both by analysing the work at the annual level and by testing separate topics and segments within their competences,

- We will devote an additional attention to that issue in the period to come, bearing in mind the need for allocating the resources for equipping and strengthening technical and staff capacities, Mr Nuhodžić said

In addition to the Chairperson of the Committee Mr Nuhodžić, the introductory remarks were also made by Minister of Interior Mr Raško Konjević, Supreme Public Prosecutor Mr Ivica Stanković and Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro Ms Janina Hrebičkova.
