Deputy Chairperson of the Security and Defence Committee Ms Snežana Jonica and member of the Committee Mr Radivoje Nikčević will take part in the “Regional parliamentary roundtable on overseeing intelligence services in the Western Balkans”, which will take place in Ljubljana, the Republic of Slovenia, on 15 December 2015.

Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) organises a regional parliamentary roundtable on overseeing intelligence services in the Western Balkans, and representatives of parliamentary committees in charge of overseeing the work of regional intelligence services will participate in the roundtable.

The gathering is aimed at considering the current state of affairs in relation to exercising the oversight role of parliaments over the legality of work of intelligence services in the Western Balkans countries, providing platform for exchanging experiences, good practices and messages from parliamentary oversight in this field, and making available to the participants options for improving the responsibility and respecting the rule of law in this field.
