The Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget, at their 29th meeting held today, decided to propose to the Parliament to adopt the Proposal for the Law on Consumer Protection, promoting, among other things, protection of consumer rights in accordance with the constitutional determinations of Montenegro on consumer protection (Article 70 of the Constitution of Montenegro), and comparative experience from the law of the European Union and the international law.
With regard to consideration of the said legal act, in accordance with the Article 67 of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament of Montenegro, the meeting was attended by the representatives of NGOs “Centre for Consumer Protection” and “Citizens Banking Ombudsman”, which shared their views on the proposed law and pointed out that it regulated the field of consumer protection in a more quality manner.
Furthermore, the Committee decided to propose to the Parliament to adopt the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Customs Law, relating to the following: fulfilling commitments stemming from the obligation of implementation of all institutes of the acquis in the Chapter 29 – Customs Union; implementation of the institute of the European Customs Law regulating the implementation of the so-called security measures and transposition of the regulations relating to achieving customs benefits; conducting a transit procedure etc.
With regard to the Open vacancy notice for appointment of the President and two members of the Council of the Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services, which was announced on 2 October 2013, and on 3 October 2013 it was published in four daily newspapers: “Pobjeda”, “Dnevne novine”, Independent Daily “Vijesti” and “Dan”, it was noted that until 14 October 2013 no applications were received.
The deadline for submitting applications is 18 October 2013, or 15 days from the day of the latest published open vacancy notice.
