The Delegation consisted of the Chairperson of the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget Mr Aleksandar Damjanović and a Committee member Mr Veljko Zarubica.
The Conference consisted of four sessions, addressing the topics of: Europe’s path to growth: re-launching investment and reducing inequalities, EU economic and financial governance tools, completing the banking union and financing the real economy, coordination of European tax policies and the case of the digital economy. During the discussion, among other things, the topics covered included acceptability of certain EU strategic goals, initiatives that needed to be undertaken in order to reduce the burden of public debt of the EU countries, stimulating investment in private and public sector, forming of the unique market in the field of energy, transport and information technologies, as well as a more stable coordination of financial and banking system. Other topics included the Euro-zone crisis and the steps that needed to be undertaken which would lead to overcoming it, the European bailout fund, banking union, stimulating micro-loans as well as establishing common regulation in this field. Following the introductory speech by the Speaker of the Italian Parliament Ms Laura Boldrini, during the Conference the participants were, among others, Mr Pier Carlo Padoan, Italian Minister of Economy and Finance; Jean Pisani-Ferry, Commissioner-General for Policy Planning; Roberto Gualtieri, chairperson of the ECON committee of the European parliament; Mr Ignazio Visco, Governor of the Central Bank of Italy; Mr Dario Scannapieco, Vice President of the European Investment Bank; Mr Rintaro Tamaki, Deputy Secretary General of the OECD; Mr Hosuk Lee-Makiyama, Director of the European Centre for International Political Economy.
