Chairperson of the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget and Head of MP Group of Socialist People’s Party (SNP) Mr Aleksandar Damjanović met today with member of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) at the German Bundestag Mr Joachim Pfeiffer.

Topics covered in the meeting included the process of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Montenegro, as well as cooperation of countries in the region, with special focus on the field of infrastructural networking.

Member of Bundestag Mr Joachim Pfeiffer has shown interest in a stable legislative and institutional ambiance of Montenegro in order to attract foreign direct investments, as well as in the issues relating to the state of public finance in Montenegro.

During their conversation, the interlocutors noted that the foreign direct investments were one of the key factors for growth and development of Montenegrin economy, while balance between growth and development of economy and resolution of ecological problems must be provided. In that respect, special focus during the conversation was placed on the current situation of Saltworks “Bajo Sekulić” in Ulcinj and the need for urgent resolution of the problem in the Saltworks.

Finally, they pointed out the significance and the need for a more intense parliamentary cooperation between Montenegro and Germany.
