Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget holds its 119th meeting

Four proposals for laws considered

At today’s 119th meeting, the Committee on Economy, Finance and Budget considered and decided to propose to the Parliament to adopt the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Excise Law and Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Postal Service, together with two amendments submitted in line with Article 148, paragraph 2 of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament of Montenegro. 

The Committee considered and decided to propose to the Parliament to adopt the Proposal for the Law on Supplement to the Law on Local Self-Government Financing, submitted by MP Mr Damir Šehović. Additionally, the Committee considered amendment to the said Proposal for the Law, submitted by MP Mr Almer Kalač. Following the discussion and vote by the Committee members, the said amendment did not obtain the necessary majority.

In addition, the Committee considered and decided to propose to the Parliament not to adopt the Proposal for the Law on Geological Research, submitted by MPs Ms Jelisava Kalezić and Ms Branka Bošnjak.

The Committee considered the Proposal for the Decision on establishing the Committee on monitoring and controlling the implementation of the Bar-Boljare highway project, submitted by MPs:  Ms Jelisava Kalezić, Mr Miodrag Lekić, Mr Goran Danilović, Mr Zoran Miljanić, Mr Andrija Popović, Mr Milutin Đukanović, Mr Vladislav Bojović, Ms Branka Bošnjak, Mr Neven Gošović, Mr Dritan Abazović, Ms Snežana Jonica, Mr Janko Vučinić and Mr Srđan Perić. Following the discussion on purposefulness of establishment of the above mentioned committee, the said Proposal for the Decision was not supported by the requested majority.

In line with Article 92, paragraph 2 of the Law on Banks, Banking Ombudsman shall be elected by the Parliament of Montenegro, upon the proposal of the committee responsible for finances.  The Committee determined the Proposal for the Decision on the election of Banking Ombudsman, proposing to the Parliament to appoint Mr Halil Kalač who has exercised that function so far.
