Chairperson of the Committee Mr Slaven Radunović informed media on planned activities and new ways of communication of the Committee on European Integration. With regard to that, he emphasised that during September three meetings of the Committee will be held with the purpose of considering the drafts of negotiation positions relating the negotiation chapters: 5 – Public Procurement, 6 - Commercial Law and 10 – Information Society and Media. Due to nature of documents that will be considered, the meetings will be closed to public.
Chairperson of the Committee announced a public debate on “Montenegro and the EU – Information Society and Media”, which will be held in the organisation of the Committee on European Integration, in hotel Ramada in Podgorica, on 17 September, starting at 11 am. During the continuation, he emphasised that public debates were also planned in other municipalities in Montenegro, with the aim of informing high school students but also heads of local authorities on what the European Union represented and which benefits it would provide to citizens of Montenegro, as well as the role of the Parliament and its Committee on European Integration in that process.
For the purpose of further improvement of communication with citizens, Facebook account has been activated (Committee on European Integration) as well as Twitter account (EUOdborCG). Another novelty in terms of this is coordination of documents by so-called “QR Code”, thus the documents could be downloaded in the electronic format.
Journalists expressed additional interest for the date of opening negotiation chapters 23 and 24 as well as the Resolution defining relation of the Parliament and the Government of Montenegro in the EU integration process, the adoption of which was postponed for fall session of the Parliament.
