At the second joint meeting of the Committee on European Integration and the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants, both committees provided positive opinion on the Proposal for 2014 Budget Law of Montenegro in part relating to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
The planned funds within the programme relating to the process of stabilisation and association to the European Union were particularly analysed, relating, primarily, to the needs and possibilities for implementation of activities in that field. The agreement of members of both committees was expressed, regarding focusing the budget on development of consular network and enhancing cooperation with the European Union member states.
The meeting was attended by Mr Predrag Stamatović, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and Mr Nikola Vukićević, Director General of the Directorate for Budget of the Ministry of Finance, who pointed out that rationalisation of funds and adaptation to the current economic situation were the key reasons that the planned funds for the following year were reduced in comparison to the funds available in 2013.
