At today's meeting of the Committee on European Integration, the 2014 Performance Report of the Committee on European Integration and 2015 Work Plan have been unanimously adopted.
Performance Report for the previous year presents the overall review of legislative, oversight and international activities of the Committee. In 2014, the Committee considered the total of 14 draft negotiation positions, out of which the Committee unanimously proposed the modification of five drafts, while for others – positive opinions were unanimously adopted. Within the competences to oversight the negotiation process of Montenegro with the European Union, the Committee held ten consultative hearings, highlighting the newly-established practice of considering half year reports on the course of European integration, which is a commitment that resulted from the Resolution on Manner, Quality and Dynamics of the Integration Process of Montenegro to the European Union.
The annual Performance Report also presents participation of representatives of the Committee in international activities, numerous meetings held in Montenegro and activities directed to improving communication of the Committee with citizens, such as public debates, meetings with students of high schools and representatives of local self-governments, and presence of the Committee on social networks – Facebook and Twitter.
U drugom dijelu śednice, predstavljen je Plan rada za 2015. godinu, koji se, pored uvoda, sastoji od četiri cjeline – Praćenje procesa pregovora, Kontrolna uloga, Međunarodne aktivnosti i Promocija procesa evropskih integracija u crnogorskoj javnosti. Pored redovnog razmatranja nacrta pregovaračkih pozicija, Odbor namjerava da nastavi sa organizovanjem konsultativnih saslušanja, u cilju boljeg upoznavanja sa dokumentima od važnosti za proces evropskih integracija. S tim u vezi, planirano je ukupno 21 konsultativnо saslušanjе. U plan rada za sljedeću godinu su uvrštene i nove aktivnosti, među kojima je najznačajnijepolugodišnje razmatranje izvještaja o napretku u pregovorima u svim pregovaračkim poglavljima za koje su pregovori započeti, sa fokusom na poglavlja 23 i 24. Takođe, Odbor će prije održavanja redovnih sastanaka Parlamentarnog odbora za stabilizaciju i pridruživanje organizovati śednice na kojima će razmatrati dinamiku ispunjavanja preporuka sa prethodnog sastanka. During the second half of the meeting 2015 Work Plan was presented, which is composed of introduction and four parts – Following the negotiation process, Control role, International activities and Promotion of European integration process in Montenegrin public. In addition to regular consideration of draft negotiation positions, the Committee plans to continue organizing consultative hearings, with the aim of better informing on documents important for the European integration process. With regard to that, the Committee plans holding of 21 consultative hearing. The work plan for the following year also includes new activities, among which the most important is consideration of report on progress in negotiations regarding all negotiation chapters for which negotiations have been initiated, with a focus on chapters 23 and 24. In addition, prior to meetings of the Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee, the Committee will organise meetings, during which it will consider dynamics of fulfilling recommendations from the previous meetings.
In 2015, the Committee will devote attention to promotion of European integration process, through the continuation of organisation of public debates, debates with high school students, meetings with representatives of local self-governments, as well as through implementation of new forms of activities aimed at strengthening of communication with Montenegrin citizens. The Committee plans, inter alia, to organise contests in writing papers on the topic of European integration for high school students as well as to open competition for the exhibition of photographs on the topic of European values in Montenegro.
