Members of the Committee on European Integration today met with Ms Angelina Eichhorst, Director for Western Europe, Western Balkans and Turkey at the European External Action Service.
The focus of the meeting was the current political situation in Montenegro, thus the MPs expressed different views on the current political dialogue and the work on preparation of the upcoming parliamentary elections. Members of the Committee were unanimous in estimating that political dialogue should be led in the Parliament of Montenegro. Furthermore, the topic of the conversation was functioning of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption, namely procedures of its founding and challenges in its work.
Ms Eichhorst expressed strong support to Montenegro on its European path, and expressed hope that the political dialogue would be successful and that it would result in elections organised to satisfaction of all involved parties.
The meeting was attended by: H.E. Mr Mitja Drobnič, Head of the EU Delegation to Montenegro, Mr Herbert Pribitzer from the European External Action Service., Ms Annalisa Giansanti, Political Affairs Advisor, and Mr Barbara Rotovnik, Advisor for European Integration and Human Rights at the EU Delegation to Montenegro.
From the Parliament of Montenegro, the following participated in the meeting: members of the Committee on European Integration: Ms Marija Maja Ćatović, Mr Predrag Sekulić, Mr Vuk Roćen, Ms Nada Drobnjak, Mr Obrad Mišo Stanišić, and Ms Azra Jasavić, as well as Chairperson of the Committee on Economy, Finance, and Budget Ms Aleksandar Damjanović.
