Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the UNICEF Office in Montenegro organise a press conference

Topic: Research on the knowledge, views and conduct regarding violence against children – as a contribution to the Council of Europe Campaign to Stop Sexual Violence against Children 

Within cooperation of the Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the UNICEF Office in Montenegro, as a contribution to the Council of Europe Campaign to Stop Sexual Violence against Children “One in Five”, which was joined by Montenegro, a Research on the knowledge, views and conduct regarding violence against children had been implemented.

The Research had been conducted in cooperation with the IPSOS agency in the period January- May 2013.

The Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the UNICEF Office in Montenegro organise a press conference where the results of the Research would be presented.

The press conference will be held on Thursday, 26 September 2013, at 11:00, in the Blue Room of the Parliament of Montenegro.

The following will speak at the conference: Head of Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Mr Zoran Vukčević, PhD; Head of the UNICEF Office in Montenegro, Mr Benjamin Perks; Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms Mr Halil Duković, MD; and Minister for Human and Minority Rights, Mr Suad Numanović, PhD. The Research results would be presented by the UNICEF Social and Economic Policy Officer, Mr Slobodan Živković.

At the end of the press conference, a TV video would be played, prepared by the UNICEF within the global campaign to stop sexual violence against children.

Based on this Research, in the following period, it was planned to draft a Strategy for Protection of Children against Sexual Violence, with an Action Plan, involving all state authorities, law-enforcement authorities, civil sector, and other relevant subjects, while the line ministries in the Government of Montenegro would play an important role.
