Delegation of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms composing of: Committee Chairperson Mr Halil Duković, MD, Deputy Chairperson Ljiljana Đurašković, PhD and Committee Secretary Ms Slava Burić will participate in the First Regional Meeting of Parliamentary Bodies Competent for Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality, which will be held in Belgrade, in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, on 29 and 30 October.
The aim of the meeting is exchange of views and experiences on the role of parliamentary bodies in protection of human rights, national minority rights and gender equality. The intention is establishment of goals and directions of further inter-parliamentary cooperation.
The meeting is supported by the OCSE Mission in Serbia, and it is expected the First Regional Meeting of Parliamentary Bodies Competent for Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality to be attended by chairpersons, members and secretaries of parliamentary working bodies of regional countries: Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia and Montenegro as well as by the following: Ms Barbara Lochbihler, Chairperson of the Subcommittee on Human Rights of the European Parliament, Mr Laszlo Tokes, member of the Subcommittee on Human Rights of the European Parliament and Deputy Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Rapporteur of the General Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions Ms Gordana Čomić.
