The Secretary of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms and Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe as well as Advisor at the Committee and the Delegation will participate in the seminar on the topic “European Convention on Human Rights - Execution of Judgments”, organised by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, in Strasbourg, on 16 and 17 January 2014.
The seminar is aimed at improving the knowledge of staff in national parliaments of Council of Europe member states in respect of the European Convention on Human Rights and cases that are proceeded before European Court of Human Rights, with special emphasises on the need for execution of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights.
The seminar should contribute to strengthening of the capacities of national parliaments in respect of the need of parliamentary control regarding the application of standards in the field of human rights, defined by the European Convention on Human Rights, as well as consideration of the standards in preparation of legislation.
The seminar will be attended by representatives of professional services dealing with human rights, legislation and parliamentary issues from parliaments of the following countries: Montenegro , Croatia, Estonia, Germany, Italia, Moldavia, Romania and Ukraine.
