The visit of the expert mission is part of the new approach in negotiations with the European Union and stands as a regular mechanism by which the European Commission assesses the state of the judiciary and fundamental rights, and in the area of justice, freedom and security in Montenegro.
The European Commission expert said that this visit to Montenegro was one of many missions for the assessment of the situation in the field of human rights, in order to analyze the situation in Montenegro and collect relevant data necessary for the preparation of the report of the European Commission on the progress of Montenegro, which is to be published in October.
Chairperson and its Deputy have in detail informed the expert with the activities realized by the Committee for Human Rights and Freedoms, highlighting the very good cooperation between the Committee and the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms of Montenegro.
European Commission expert commended the work of the Committee for Human Rights and Freedoms and supported the activities that the Committee is to implement in the future, on the accession path of Montenegro to the European Union.
