So called „Betonjerka“ does not exist anymore, since new premises have been provided, equipped by required international standards.
The visit was an opportunity for Committee members to see the state of the premises and the degree of respecting the rights of persons deprived of their liberty.
Representatives of the Police Administration - Assistant Director Nikola Janjušević and Head of the Operational Communication Centre Vojislav Dragovic informed the members of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms and other visitors about the manner of work and treatment of persons deprived of their liberty.
It was announced that there are 10 premises for the detention of persons deprived of their liberty in Podgorica, with a total of 16 beds, which members of the Committee visited.
Members of the Committee expressed their satisfaction with the state of the premises for the detention of persons deprived of their liberty, which fully comply with the prescribed standards, as well as with the fact that there were no detained persons in the detention unit during their visit.
