Chair of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedom Halil Duković PhD recalled that the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms is, for the fourth year, in the focus of obligations in terms of the legislative and oversight functions of the Parliament of Montenegro and it adopted the Activities plan, prepared in accordance with the practice of adopting planned documents that improve the predictability of the work of the Parliament and its working bodies, in order to increase the degree of transparency as a control measure over the quality of legislative and control activities.
Within the current issues, certain members of the Committee suggested that the Committee should visit, during the autumn session if there would be time, the Special Psychiatric Hospital in Kotor in order to monitor the human rights situation in that institution, which was supported by the Chair of the Committee. Committee Chair suggested that the Committee should request from the Ministry of Health, which is in charge of this health institution, information about the state of human rights in the Special Psychiatric Hospital in Kotor, in accordance with Article 68 of the Rules of Procedure, but before organizing this visit, and it should adopt the decision upon receiving the information, with which committee members agreed.
Also, at today's meeting, members of the Committee approved the minutes from the 31, 33, 34 and 35 meetings which were held in June and July 2014, thus updating the work of the Committee.
