The Conference will be opened by Maja Gojković, Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia and Ivo Vajgl, MEP, member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
The Conference will cover issues of national and supranational guarantees, constitutional norms and electoral systems, integration and measures for promotion of reconciliation.
The speakers on the topic "Beyond protection: promoting reconciliation, preventing security threats – from peaceful coexistence towards integrative citizenship″ will be Meho Omerović, Chairman of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ivo Vajgl, MEP, member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Emir Adžović, coordinator of the Joint Project of the European Union and the Council of Europe for promotion of human rights and protection of minorities in Southeast Europe.
On the second day of the Conference there will be the discussion on national minorities as proactive actors of social cohesion, and the presenters will be Csaba Sógor, MEP, member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and Tove Hansen Malloy, Director of the European Centre for Minority Issues from Flensburg.
The program of the Conference will include the discussion on experiences of inclusion of minorities and other vulnerable groups in the Western Balkans and Turkey, with participation of members of the European Parliament and parliaments of the candidate countries and potential candidates for EU membership, as well as representatives of the Council of National Minorities of Serbia and civil society organizations.
The members of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms of the Parliament of Montenegro will be able to exchange views and experiences on legislation and specific activities with members of the European Parliament and the parliaments of the neighboring countries, to be undertaken with the aim of the inclusion of minorities and other vulnerable groups.
