Chairperson of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms Mr Halil Duković today will meet with Ms Judith Heumann, Special Advisor for International Disability Rights at the State Department, on 07 October 2015.

The meeting is organised upon the initiative by the US Embassy to Montenegro, and it will be attended by members of Ms Judith Heumann’s team Ms Alisson Colburn and Ms Jennifer Scheutt, as well as representatives of the US Embassy to Montenegro Mr Jan Krasny and Mr Zlatko Ivanović.

The participants in the meeting will be discussing the position of persons with disabilities in Montenegro and activities of the Committee on Human Rights and Freedoms in this field.

Ms Judith Heumann is an internationally famous person dealing with issues of persons with disabilities, with a rich thirty-year experience in promoting their rights. During the working visit to Montenegro, she will meet with representatives of the competent institutions and NGOs dealing with issues of persons with disabilities.

The meeting will be held at 10:15 in the restaurant “Vuk” in Podgorica.

The meeting is closed to public, and following the meeting a press statement will be released.
