The Parliament of Montenegro of the 25th Convocation constituted Friendship Groups of the Parliament of Montenegro for cooperation with the parliaments of other countries

Friendship groups are formed with a view to promote relations and cooperation of the Parliament of Montenegro with the parliaments of other countries based on the principle of voluntariness.

When forming a friendship group, we start with the mutually expressed interests for achieving and developing cooperation between parliaments of the two countries. The composition of the inter-parliamentary friendship groups reflects the multi-party structure of the Parliament of Montenegro. Members of the inter-parliamentary friendship groups are appointed by the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants of the Parliament of Montenegro based on the previously conducted survey among the MPs. The MPs decide on a particular inter-parliamentary friendship group based on their knowledge of a certain country, region and language.

The presidents of the friendship groups are vice presidents of the Parliament of Montenegro, who coordinate the work of a group to which they have been appointed as presidents.

Vice President Mr Željko Šturanović is the president of the following friendship groups:

- Friendship group with the Parliament of Ukraine;

- Friendship group with the National Assembly of Serbia;
