Members of Delegation of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants held meetings at the Embassy of Montenegro, Sobranie of the Republic of Macedonia and the Agency for Emigration of the Republic of Macedonia (day one)

On day one of their visit to the Republic of Macedonia, the Delegation of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants, headed by Mr Miodrag Vuković, held talks with the representatives of the Foreign Policy Committee and Committee on Political System and Inter-Ethnic Relations of the Sobranie of the Republic of Macedonia, as well as the Agency for Emigration of the Republic of Macedonia.

Members of the Delegation of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants met with the Ambassador of Montenegro to the Republic of Macedonia Mr Dušan Mrdović. On that occasion, Mr Mrdović informed the attendees on the current political situation in the country, status and position of Montenegrin emigrants in the Republic of Macedonia, cooperation of the two countries and activities of the Embassy of Montenegro within their competencies. Delegation members pointed out the importance of continuation and initiation of new international activities based on economic cooperation as well as improvement of position of Montenegrin emigrants in the Republic of Macedonia.

In addition to the Delegation of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants with the Chairperson of the Committee Mr Miodrag Vuković, and members Mr Obrad Mišo Stanišić, Mr Mićo Orlandić, Mr Dritan Abazović and Mr Danko Šarančić, the meetings were also attended by the Ambassador of Montenegro to the Republic of Macedonia Mr Dušan Mrdović.

Joint meeting with the representatives of the Foreign Policy Committee and the Committee on Political System and Inter-Ethnic Relations of the Sobranie of the Republic of Macedonia represented a unique opportunity for the Delegation of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants to learn more about the current political situation in the Republic of Macedonia and certain obstacles on the path toward the European Union. In that regard, the attendees at the meeting agreed on the need for further international cooperation, and expressed great satisfaction with the initiative of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants of the Parliament of Montenegro to meet together in order to continue and deepen the traditional and successful parliamentary cooperation. Delegation members emphasised the closeness of the two countries and expressed hope for continuation of mutual support on the path of achieving full-fledged membership to the European Union and the NATO. 

Members of the Committee Delegation held a meeting with the President of the Agency for Emigration of the Republic of Macedonia Mr Vasil Naumov. Mr Naumov presented the work of the Agency, pointing out that they performed jobs relating directly to the status and the rights of the emigrants from Macedonia. The Agency supports their cultural development and promotes relations with them and their organisations, informs the emigrants from the Republic of Macedonia on the state in the country, creates conditions for return of the emigrants to their country of origin, creates conditions to include emigrants in the public and economic life of the Republic of Macedonia. Members of the Delegation of the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants of the Parliament of Montenegro emphasised their pleasure and gratitude regarding information and experience that Mr Naumov managed to share during the meeting. On that occasion, the Delegation members cited programmes and projects implemented so far as well as the current ones, aimed at promoting the position of emigrants from Montenegro, both in their interest and in the interest of their country of origin Montenegro.  

Meeting with the Presidency of the Community of Montenegrins in the Republic of Macedonia will be held tomorrow in the premises of the Community of Montenegrins in the Republic of Macedonia.
