The meeting was an opportunity to make specific analysis of what has been done so far in relations between the state of Montenegro and emigrants, as well as to consider new initiatives and proposals aimed at enhancing current situation.

It was pointed out at the meeting that the care for emigrants is an integral part of the internal and foreign policy of any state, and in that terms is important the fact that the state of Montenegro has recognized that the coordination and managing of this potential from the level of state institutions represent one of the important assumptions of further social-economic prosperity and strengthening of state and national identity.  

The fact that it will soon be found in parliamentary procedure the Proposal for the Law on Cooperation of Montenegro with the diaspora was welcomed, that will regulate the relations and ways to exercise and strengthen cooperation of the state with diaspora and in this regard proposals to improve the existing text of the law that is being draftedwere presented and discussed at the meeting.    

Numerous and significant activities of the National Community of Montenegrins of Croatiawere highlighted and welcomed at the working meeting, which were implemented in the past period and the new ones were announced.

New activities and cooperation were agreed and initiated between the National Community of Montenegrins of Croatia and the Committee on International Relations and Emigrants of the Parliament of Montenegro as one of the major holders of cooperation with diaspora.    

National Community of Montenegrins of Croatia as an umbrella organization is composed of: Association of Montenegrins and friends of Montenegro "Montenegro" Zagreb, the National Community of Montenegrins from Rijeka, Community of Montenegrins from Split, Community of Montenegrins from Pula, Association of Montenegrins "Obod" Karlovac and friends of Montenegro, Society of Montenegrins and friends "Onogošt" Rovinj, Association of Montenegrins and friends of Osijek-Baranja County Osijek, Association of Montenegrins and friends of Montenegro "Bujština" Umag, Community of Montenegrins and friends of Montenegro of Istra County.
