This year's Bled Strategic Forum, ninth to be held under the motto to restore confidence at all levels of international relations as a result of crises that have undermined values and created mistrust, was opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Karl Erjavec, who pointed out that the lack of trust between international institutions and leaders of countries is an obstacle to development of good international relations and economic prosperity, and that this year's Bled Strategic Forum would demonstrate that trust, in spite of globalization and rapid technological development in the field of communication is still basic source of power and prosperity. At the end of his address to the participants of the forum, Minister Erjavec called on all political participants to restore confidence at all levels in global relations, because only with trust powerful and secure worldcan be built.
On the first working day of this year's Bled Strategic Forum, a major panel discussion was on the topic of "Philosophy of leadership" dedicated to the importance of mutual trust and good governance, which was opened by the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor, who noted that without trust there can be no dialogue, development and prosperity.
The first panel discussion was opened by the former Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing, his Hungarian counterpart and a candidate for the European Commissioner Tibor Navracsics, and counterpart from Sri Lanka Gamini Lakshman Peiris, former Minister of the Netherlands Uri Rosenthal and the Indian Minister of State V.K. Singh.
Participants in the panel discussion agreed that we live in dynamic times, where technological development has been changing thus affecting our social relations, which is why traditional forms of leadership are too rigid and slow to effectively respond to new global challenges, with the conclusion that the leader should encourage new progressive political and economic processes.
On the first working day, the participants of the Bled Strategic Forum was addressed by the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia Milan Brglez and Mayor of Bled Janez Fajfar.
President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia Milan Brglez stressed the need to establish a new global order that would prevent the excesses such as was the last financial crisis, and stated that without firm international cooperation in today's global community one cannot rely on the development and advancement.
Bled Strategic Forum, which is being held for the ninth year in a row, has become a platform of strategic high-level dialogue on key issues and problems facing Europe and the world in the 21st century. The forum is attended by five hundred politicians, economists and experts from 65 countries in the world including representatives of the Western Balkans.

PhD is attending this year's Bled Strategic Forumat the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Karl Erjavec, as well as the MP in the Committee Dritan Abazović MA, who was invited by the organizers to attend the Forum for Young Leaders, as the part of the Bled Strategic Forum.
Forum provides an opportunity for comprehensive exchange of opinions on issues of regional cooperation between the countries in the Western Balkans in addressing the current challenges in the process of European integration. Participation of the delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro at the Bled Strategic Forum promotes the commitment to continuous improvement and enhancement of cooperation and relations with countries in the region.
