Upon the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Mr Karl Erjavec, Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations Mr Miodrag Vuković took part in this year’s Bled Strategic Forum.
The central panel of the first working day addressed the topic: “New Global Order: Confrontation or Parnerships”, focused on the refugee crisis that has stricken Europe.
Representative of the European Council Mr Donald Tusk was the keynote speaker of the central panel, and the following also participated: President of Slovenia Mr Borut Pahor, President of the Republic of Croatia Ms Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Mr Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Minister of Luxembourg Mr Gzavije Betel, OSCE Secretary General Mr Lamberto Zanijer and a representative of the UN Secretary General Mr Fris Bah.
The agenda of the first working day comprised panels devoted to the issues of changes necessary in the world’s politics regarding the issues such as mass migration, international terrorism and climate changes.
Holding of the panel on the topic of the Western Balkan marked the end of two-day Bled Strategic Forum, which brought together more than 500 participants from 65 countries and international organisations.
The panel discussion devoted to the Western Balkans was concentrated on the models of cooperation of the Western Balkans countries and European Union through infrastructural and energy projects, as well as means and methods that would help the Western Balkan countries to achieve their full potential and better economic and political stability.
The following spoke on this topic: H.E. Mr Igor Crnadak, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr Daniel Mitov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr Nikola Popovski, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr Hoyt Brian Yee, Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs, Ms Odette Bushati i, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Republic of Albania, Ms Dragoljuba Bencina, State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, and others.
On the second working day, the participants discussed the power and importance of intercultural dialogue, as well as strengthening the fight against impunity through partnership.
On side-lines of the forum, Chairperson of the Committee on International Relations Mr Miodrag Vuković had several bilateral meetings.
