The MPs toured the building occupied by the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office, Special Public Prosecutor’s Office and High Public Prosecutor’s Office, and the occasion become familiar with conditions that state prosecutors work in.
The Supreme Public Prosecutor stressed that he insisted that his associates must achieve good results regardless of the conditions they work in, but in the same time stated that much more would be achieved in the adequate ambience. Space capacities are insufficient for currently employed and the problem will become more emphasised if the plans on personnel strengthening of the institution are implemented, Mr Stanković said. Prosecutors informed the MPs on problems they had been facing with in their daily work, which may, as they assessed, result in employee attrition.
Chairperson of the Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration Mr Rifat Rastoder, said that, together with other members of the Committee, would help that such important institution as Prosecution Office be provided with conditions that would provide undisturbed functioning. Activities of the Prosecution Office are encouraging and show that prosecutors have the intention to work seriously and achieve the important results. In that sense, it is also necessary to resolve the accumulated problems from the previous period and improve the current situation where the Public Prosecution Office will have a support of all members of the Committee, MPs noted during the meeting.
The following members of the Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration visited the Public Prosecution Office: Chairperson of the Committee Mr Rifat Rastoder, Deputy Chairperson Ms Snežana Jonica, and MPs Mr Husnija Šabović, Mr Veljko Vasiljević and Ms Azra Jasavić.
