Representatives of the Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration and representatives of RTCG will meet the independent experts from the field of media freedom - Mr Jeremy McBride and Mr Steve Krause.

The meeting is organised within the independent expert mission for addressing the issue of media freedom, carried out by the European Commission. The mission will assess the work of state bodies and institutions responsible for this field, with the aim of providing a comprehensive overview of the situation of media freedom in Montenegro.

The meeting will discuss the control of the Public Broadcaster by the Parliament of Montenegro.

The meeting will be held on 24 May 2016, in the period 14:00 - 15:30h, in the premises of the Parliament of Montenegro.

On behalf of the Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration, the meeting will be attended by: Chairperson of the Committee Mr Rifat Rastoder and members of the Committee Ms Marta Šćepanović and Ms Danijela Marković.

Having in mind the fact that this is an expert mission, the media attendance is not envisaged at the meetings planned within the mission.  A press release will be issued after the meeting.
