Within the expert mission for Chapter 10 - Information society and media, organised by the European Commission, representatives of the Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration have met with Mr Andrejs Dombrovskis and Ms Tanja Kerševan.
At the meeting, opinions and positions were exchanged relating to legal regulations from the field of audio-visual services as well as functioning of independent regulatory bodies. In that part, the participants agreed that it was necessary to monitor implementation of the current legal regulations, adding that certain legal solutions should be improved and specified in order to achieve harmonisation with the European standards. Furthermore, they pointed out the significance of providing contribution to achieving greater independence of regulatory bodies, especially with regard to funding, governance bodies, and inspection control.
In addition to that, it was pointed out that the Committee within its purview, though application of control mechanisms envisaged by the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament of Montenegro, had previously organised a debate on this topic, and that in the future it would continue with this practice in order to achieve the most effective solutions.
The experts were accompanied by: Ms Simona Konrad, Representative of the European Commission, Ms Melita Rastoder-Ljaljić, representing Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, as well as Ms Ružica Mišković, representing Ministry of Information Society and Telecommunication.
