Committee on monitoring application of laws and other regulations important for building trust in the election process held its first meeting, chaired by President of the Parliament of Montenegro Mr Darko Pajović.
The meeting unanimously adopted the model of co-chairs as the most adequate manner of work of this temporary working body of the Parliament of Montenegro.
Mr Milutin Simović was elected co-chair from among parliamentary majority, while Ms Draginja Vuksanović was elected co-chair from among the opposition MPs/parliamentary minority.
In the continuation of the meeting, the participants discussed the manner and plan of the Committee work, and, for the sake of efficiency, they scheduled the next meeting.
In performing its duties, the Committee monitors the application of provisions of laws and other regulations relating to: election of councillors and MPs, election of the President of Montenegro; voters register; funding of political parties and election campaigns; registers of temporary and permanent residence; Montenegrin citizenship; identity card; as well as provisions of the Criminal Code of Montenegro in the part of provisions relating to crimes against election rights.
The meeting was attended by all of the Committee members: Mr Milutin Simović, Mr Miodrag Vuković, Mr Predrag Sekulić, Mr Mevludin Nuhodžić, Mr Suljo Mustafić, Ms Zorica Martinović, Ms Ljerka Dragičević, Ms Draginja Vuksanović, Mr Dritan Abazović, Mr Miloš Konatar, Mr Neven Gošović and Mr Zoran Miljanić.
