At its 41st meeting, the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sportsconsidered the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Scientific and Research Activity, submitted by the Government of Montenegro.
Ms Sanja Vlahović, Minister of Science, explained reasons for adopting this Law. The Amendments to the Law on Scientific and Research Activity propose: change of name from Centre of Excellence to Centre of Greatness; supplementing conditions that the Centre should meet; shortening the period for adopting the Strategy of Scientific and Research Activity in line with accelerated scientific and technological development; introducing the five-year deadline for issuing the license for performing scientific and research activity;amendments related to the establishment and functioning of the Council for Scientific and Research Activity, etc.
Following the constructive discussion and certain amendments by the Committee, which were accepted by the representative of the proponent, the Committee decided to propose to the Parliament to adopt the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Scientific and Research Activity.
