The Committee considered amendment to the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Scientific and Research Activity, submitted by the MPs Ms Azra Jasavić and Mr Srđan Perić. The amendment did not receive the necessary majority of the Committee members, and it was not accepted by the representative of the proposer for the law, secretary at the Ministry of Science Ms Smiljana Prelević.
Amendment of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports was unanimously adopted, and was also accepted by the representative of the proposer for the law.
Under the item of the agenda Current issues, based on publicly available information, the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports was informed on the current situation at the University of Montenegro and it urged to reach a solution which would be in the best interest of the academic community and the students.
In the wake of recent events related to the state of Bijelo Polje hospital, the Committee expressed concern about the state of education and urged the competent inspection bodies to urgently check the hygienic conditions in all schools and kindergartens in Montenegro.
