Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports holds its 70th meeting

Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Preschool Education considered and unanimously supported, and the initiative for amending the Law on Higher Education supported

 

At today’s 70th meeting, the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports considered the Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Preschool Education, submitted by the following MPs: Ms Branka Tanasijević, Mr Radosav Nišavić, Mr Saša Pešić, Mr Rešid Adrović, Mr Vuk Roćen, Ms Jelisava Kalezić, Ms Draginja Vuksanović and Mr Andrija Popović.

Chairperson of the Committee on Education, Science, Culture and Sports Ms Branka Tanasijević, in the capacity of proposer of the act, presented the reasons for adopting the Law, explaining that the Law on Amendments to the Law on Preschool Education should be adopted with the aim of specifying the expenditures paid by parents of children accommodated in public preschool institutions. The reason for adopting this Law also lie in the recommendations of the State Audit Institution and Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms that this Law should regulate the manner and purpose of spending funds collected in this manner.

The Committee unanimously supported the Law on Amendments to the Law on Preschool Education, and proposed to the Parliament of Montenegro to adopt thereof.

Upon the initiative of MP Mr Andrija Popović, which was unanimously accepted, the agenda of the 70th Committee meeting was supplemented by an additional item relating to the issue, which was also discussed in the past, on prolonging the deadline for studying to students of the University of Montenegro, who started their education in accordance with study programs which were valid before the introduction of Bologna Declaration.

The Committee considered and unanimously supported the initiative for amending the Law on Higher Education. Proposal for this Law will be considered at one of the next Committee meetings.
