At its 23rd meeting held today, the Gender Equality Committee considered the Proposal for the 2014 Budget Law of Montenegro, in the part relating the following consumer units: Ministry for Human and Minority Rights, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare; Ministry of Health, Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms and General Secretariat of the Government of Montenegro (Programme 3: Office for Fight against Trafficking in Human Beings).
During the discussion, the Committee noted that the Proposal for the Law was not gender-balanced, hence the manner of its discussion from the Gender Equality Committee point of view was more difficult, thus it was necessary the Government of Montenegro to make an effort through Proposal for the Law on Final Budget Statement of Montenegro for 2013 and 2014 to monitor the implementation of the Gender Equality Law, primarily Articles 3 and 14, and also to ensure the Budget for 2015 to be gender-balanced; the Committee unanimously supported the Proposal for the 2014 Budget Law of Montenegro.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of: Ministry of Finance, Ministry for Human and Minority Rights, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare; Ministry of Health, Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms and Office for Fight against Trafficking in Human Beings.
