At the meeting held today, the Committee considered the Information on the implementation of the 2013 Strategy on Protection against Domestic Violence, prepared by the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, and adopted by the Government of Montenegro at the meeting held on 29 May 2014. The Information provides for an overview of measures and activities envisaged by the 2013 Action Plan for the implementation of the Strategy. In addition to activities of state authorities and institutions, some of the activities of non-governmental organizations were given, dealing with the protection from domestic violence, regardless of whether they were performed in cooperation with state authorities or independently.

These data clearly show that the level of implementation of the Law on Domestic Violence Protection, four years after its adoption, has not been satisfactory still, which required additional efforts of all organs involved in its implementation.

The Information was presented to members of the Committee by Goran Kuševija, Director General at the Directorate for Social Welfare and Child Protection and Igor Vučinić, Head of the Directorate for the Protection of vulnerable groups in the Directorate for Social Welfare and Child Protection.

Within the agenda item Current issues, the upcoming activities were discussed, as well as activities of the Committee inbetween meetings.
