At its 34th meeting held today, the Gender Equality Committee considered Proposal for the Law on Foreigners and Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Free Legal Aid, within its competence, and after discussion decided to unanimously support these proposals, and proposed to the Committee on Political System, Judiciary and Administration, as the umbrella committee, to propose to the Parliament to adopt Proposal for the Law on Foreigners and Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on Free Legal Aid.
Under the item of the agenda Current issues, the Committee was informed on the activities that occurred in the time between their meetings.
The Committee meeting was attended by the representatives of the proposers of the law: Mr Abid Crnovršanin, Director of Directorate for Administrative Interior Affairs at the Ministry of Interior, and Ms Branka Lakočević, Director General of Directorate of Justice at the Ministry of Justice. Upon invitation, the meeting was attended by Ms Biljana Zeković, NVO SOS Podgorica.
