Gender Equality Committee, at today held 39th meeting, considered the Proposal for the Law on Budget of Montenegro for 2015, in the part related to consumer units: Ministry of Human and Minority Rights, Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms of Montenegro, Secretariat General of the Government of Montenegro- Program3: Office for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings and the Ministry of Defence, as a good example of how to continuously allocate funds for the implementation of the Action Plan for Gender Equality.
During the discussion, the Committee noted that the Proposal for the Law is not gender balanced and therefore hinders the manner of its consideration, taking into account the competence of the Gender Equality Committee and that it is essential that the Government of Montenegro should make an effort tomonitor the implementation of the Law on Gender Equality, through the Law on Budget for 2014, especially articles 3 and 14, and that the budget for 2016 should be gender balanced.
The Committee, by majority of votes, supported the Proposal for the Law on Budget of Montenegro for 2015.
