We would like to invite you to attend the press conference which will be held on Saturday, 14 February, starting at 12:00. The conference will be organised to mark the beginning of the media campaign “Men’s League against Violence”, which is being implemented by the Gender Equality Committee of the Parliament of Montenegro and NGO NOVA Centre for Feminist Culture, with support of the US Embassy to Montenegro.
Within the campaign, five video clips were recorded aimed at motivating the men in Montenegro to participate in the fight against violence with more dedication and action, and also at reiterating that precisely men – in private life, but also as key makers of decision in public interest – have a crucial role in this fight. This campaign is part of a global campaign initiated in 2012 by UN Secretary General Mr. Ban Ki Mun, inviting the most influential men all over the world to jointly and with dedication commit to preventing violence against women. Additionally, as part of the project a Facebook page www.facebook.com/Muskaligaprotivnasilja was set up, to enable everyone who wish to do so to express their views regarding the male violence and support this campaign.
Organising of this press conference signifies the beginning of broadcasting of video clips by the following TV stations: TVCG, TV VIJESTI, PRVA TV, TV 777, PINK M, TV ATLAS, RTV NIKŠIĆ, TV BUDVA, RTV PLJEVLJA, TV CORONA, TV SUN. Agency for Electronic Media helped in media implementation of the campaign and with the TV stations which accepted the proposal to broadcast the video clips, and thus it became a media partner in the campaign “Men’s League against Violence”.
