Chairperson of the Gender Equality Committee Ms Nada Drobnjak attends a press conference on the occasion of introducing a single SOS line for victims of domestic violence

On the occasion of introducing a single SOS line for victims of domestic violence, a press conference was held in the Local Assembly of Nikšić. The conference was attended by Ms Nada Drobnjak, Chairperson of the Gender Equality Committee.

The conference is organised with the aim of presenting and providing support to the campaign -SOS line for victims of domestic violence, implemented by the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare in cooperation with the Office of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The basic aims of the campaign are: informing citizens, motivating citizens to use helpline and raising confidence on systemic approach of the state bodies regarding the area of provision of protective measures.

The introduction of the single SOS line for victims of domestic violence, which has started functioning on 1 September 2015, is a result of cooperation of the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare and NGO SOS Nikšić, supported by the Office of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and European Union Delegation to Montenegro.
