Chairperson and member of the Gender Equality Committee participate in the Annual Regional Conference of Women Parliamentarians in Tirana

Chairperson and member of the Gender Equality Committee - Ms Nada Drobnjak and Mr Nikola Gegaj are participating in the Annual Regional Conference of Women Parliamentarians, being held in Tirana, from 26 to 28 April, in the organisation of the Albanian Parliament with the support of the UN Women.

The following spoke at the opening of the conference: Mr Ilir Meta, Speaker of the Parliament of Albania, Mr Florian Raunig, Head of OSCE Presence in Albania, Mr Brian Williams, UN Resident Coordinator and Ms Dewi van de Weerd, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The conference is taking place within panels: “Strengthening the role of Women in Politics, Parliament and Local Governance”, “Strengthening the role of Women in Central Governance”, “The role of Women in the democratisation of society” and “Strengthening the role of Women in the Economy”

Chairperson of the Gender Equality Committee Ms Nada Drobnjak spoke within the panel “Strengthening the role of Women in Central Governance”.

The regional conference is attended by representatives of: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey, as well as representatives of international organisations.
