Chairperson of the Gender Equality Committee Ms Nada Drobnjak today participated in the roundtable whereat the Draft Action Plan for the Implementation of the UN Security Council 1325 Resolution “Women, Peace and Security (2016-2017)” was considered.
The Action Plan for the implementation of the Resolution on Montenegro aims to cover and address key areas for the implementation of the 1325 Resolution and its follow-up resolutions, increase the participation of women in deciding on all issues relating to peace and security, include gender perspective in preventing conflicts and gender-based violence, protect women and girls and their rights in peacetime, as well as conflict zones and integration of gender perspective and gender education in peaceful operations.
State institutions and non-governmental organisations have implemented so far certain activities with regard to the implementation of the UN Security Council 1325 Resolution “Women, Peace and Security” and its follow-up resolutions.
The following participated in the roundtable organised by the Ministry of Defence: Mr Mihailo Volkov, General Director of Human Resource Directorate in the Ministry of Defence, Capitan Ms Sanja Pejović as well as representatives of state and non-governmental organisations.
The next two roundtables whereat the Draft Action Plan for the Implementation of the UN Security Council 1325 Resolution “Women, Peace and Security (2016-2017)” will be held on 6 July 2016 in Bijelo Polje and on 8 July 2016 July 2016 in Bar.
