In their introductory statements, chairpersons of the two committees Mr Predrag Sekulići and Mr Eduard Shals assessed that the first bilateral held in Skadar in late 2014 opened a path for a cross-border cooperation of parliamentary committees in the field of the environment and showed that the efforts should be promoted – by establishing a joint working body - in order to continue projects directed towards the protection of natural resources of the two countries.

The interlocutors considered the possibility for establishing the cross-border protected area in the Prokletije, equalizing the level of protection of Skadar Lake and joint promotion of tourism in the border area.
