In addition to Committee members, the meeting was attended by the following: Mr Mensud Grbović, Assistant Minister of Health; Ms Mirjana Đurić, Advisor at the Ministry of Work and Social Welfare, Ms Nataša Borović, representative of the Federation of Associations of Paraplegics of Montenegro, Mr Goran Macanović, representative of the Union of Blind of Montenegro, Mr Fadil Mučić, representative of the Association of War Disabled Civilians, Mr Milisav Korać, representative of the Federation of Associations of Parents of Children and Youth with Developmental Disabilities "Our Initiative", Mr Danilo Popović, representative of the Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of Montenegro and Ms Marina Vujačić, representative of the Association of Youth with Disabilities of Montenegro.
During their short presentations, representatives of the agencies dealing the issues of disabled persons presented their plans, proposals and initiatives as well as achievements and failures in the fields they have operated.
All representatives pointed out to failures of social policy, employment problems and health care of disabled persons. Unique objections regarding the functioning of the Fund for Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities were presented – stating that the Fund should be a separate budget unit, which would serve to disabled persons, without returning the funds to the budget.
It was decided that the request should be sent to the President of the Parliament of Montenegro and Secretary General of the Parliament of Montenegro with an appeal for constructing the access ramp in the Parliament of Montenegro for smooth entrance of persons with disabilities to the building.
It was said that disabled persons did not want a social cosmetics and pure propaganda, but the conditions in order to become equal members of society, who can earn living from their work.
Additionally, the Committee concluded that disabled persons can submit all their ideas and proposals to the Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare, and it would strive to support those as much as possible.
