The 39th meeting of the Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare held today was attended by the following: Mr Jovo Pajović, Director of Directorate for Pension and Disability Insurance, Veteran and Disability Protection to the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare; Ms Marija Jovović, PR Manager at the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare; Mr Dušan Perović, Director of Pension and Disability Insurance Fund of Montenegro; Ms Milka Vraneš, Assistant to Director of Pension and Disability Insurance Fund of Montenegro; Mr Aleksandar Žurić, President of Municipality of Bijelo Polje; as well as the disabled workers from the North of Montenegro: Mr Lazar Knežević, Mr Marko Hajduković, Mr Hajran Murić and Mr Muvreta Hamidović.
The meeting was also attended by the MP Emilo Labudović, in accordance with Article 55 paragraph 2 of the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament of Montenegro.
Representative of disabled workers Mr Lazar Knežević pointed out that the disabled workers decided to protest because since 2012, when they had submitted the request to the Government of Montenegro, primarily the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, their problems were not being addressed, even though the authorised employees from the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare had promised that their position would improve. Mr Knežević pointed out that the disabled workers would not give up on their demands.
Following a comprehensive consideration of the problems of the disabled workers from the North of Montenegro, the Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare reached the following conclusions:
1. The Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare and the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund of Montenegro are tasked with submitting the data to the professional service of the Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare, no later than Friday 28 March 2014, on the number of disabled workers of II and III category; the amount of funds needed for exercising pension rights of these disabled workers; as well as other important data, that might be significant for the meeting in Bijelo Polje.
2. This meeting will be held during the weekend, and, in addition to the members of Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare, it will also be attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, Pension and Disability Insurance Fund of Montenegro, representatives of the local self-government of Bijelo Polje, as well as the representatives of the disabled workers in Bijelo Polje, in order to resolve the resulting problems.
3. On decisions adopted at the meeting in Bijelo Polje, Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare of the Parliament of Montenegro will notify the Parliament of Montenegro.
4. The Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare of the Parliament of Montenegro calls for disabled workers who strike in Ribarevine near Bijelo Polje to cease with protests, in order to provide contribution to resolving their problems.
