The meeting was held due to the request submitted to the Committee by this non-governmental organization

Chair of the Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare Zoran Jelić, held a meeting with representatives of NGO "Disabled Veterans Association'', due to the request submitted to the Committee by this non-governmental organization.

Representatives of NGO "Disabled Veterans Association", Zoran Kićović and Dragan Milić, pointed out that the veterans had disability between twenty and thirty years of age, resulting in a reduction in their working ability. They believe that the state has an obligation under this category of the population, expressing the belief that they will find enough understanding and sensitivity for adoption of amendments to the Pension and Disability Insurance Law, thus enabling retirement of the hardest disabled veterans under special conditions. Furthermore, they believe that, in this way, the rest of life of this sensitive population would be facilitated.

Representatives of the NGO "Disabled Veterans Association'" stated that there are 768 of the most difficult disabled veterans from I to VI group, of whom:

- I group with 100 percent disability has 19 persons

- II group with 100 percent disability has 25 persons

- III group with 90 per cent disability has 39 persons

- IV group with 80 per cent disability has 96 persons

- V group with 70 percent disability has 129 persons and

- VI group with 60 percent disability has 460 people.
